Ministry Streams
1 Provincial & Rural Ministry: Chair: Rev Greg Harris - National Director of BCA. Greg has engaged in rural ministry for over three decades including 23 years as an ordained Anglican minister leading rural parishes. His rural ministry includes a large regional city, a medium size rural town and two small rural townships in two different dioceses and states. For the last 4 years Greg has served as the National Director of Bush Church Aid (BCA), a missionary organisation supporting gospel ministry and partnerships in rural, regional, and remote parts of Australia. Greg’s experience in rural ministry now coupled with his engagement across the national Anglican Church and its leaders through his role in BCA gives him a unique perspective to the challenges and opportunities of rural ministry. Co-Chair: Dr Monica Short Then and now the characteristics of rural ministry remain the same - opportunity and challenge. |

2 Rectors and Vicars: Chair: Ven Tim Johnson - Vicar of St Johns Diamond Creek and Archdeacon of The Yarra, Melbourne Diocese. Megan Curlis Gibson - Vicar of Deep Creek Anglican Church, Melbourne Increasingly regulars are attending church less, and there are fewer visitors. |
3 Children and Families Ministry: Chair: Rev Adam Jolliffe - Children’s Ministry and Primary SRE Advisor, Youthworks, Sydney How will we continue to reach children and families with the good news of Jesus? Without a safe and engaging children and families ministry opportunities to reach your community may be limited. Come and think through some simple ways to build and maintain one. |
|
4 Youth Ministry: What if instead of losing 70% of church-going children during their teenage years we retained them? And what if we not only retained them but mobilised and empowered teenagers to take their part in the life of the church and the mission of God? |
|
6 Church Renewal: Chair: Rev Marc Dale Senior Minister, St Albans Highgate and Chair EFAC WA You've been at your church for a number of years. You are a bit tired. Your congregation feels like it is plateauing or declining both spiritually and in number. How will you seek to let the Spirit work in bringing refreshment and renewal? |

9 Governance in Parish and Diocese (Diocesan and lay leadership): Chair: Greg Hammond – Chair of Anglicare Sydney and Illawarra How good governance helps parishes and organisations stay focused on their purpose and mission, making disciples and enable them to meet their regulatory and compliance obligations.” |

10: Mission (crossing cultures at home and overseas): Chair: Rev Dr Stuart Brooking National Director of Local Leaders International Thinking Biblically and theologically are standard ideas of Australian evangelicals. What place does thinking Missiologically have? How does that impact parish ministry and international ministry, and what is the nexus between those spheres when you do think Missiologically? How do new models of mission actually impact the practice of Australian evangelicals and programs of churches? |
